WHY I'M RUNNING

I grew up in a California that felt full of possibility. My parents worked hard, bought a home, and built a life here. Public schools gave me opportunity. Our community was a place where you could put down roots.

That's the California I believe in—a state where innovation creates opportunity, where hard work pays off, and where families can afford to stay in the communities they love.

I believed that if you worked hard, California would work for you.

But today, I watch young people—talented, hardworking young people—leave California because they can't afford to start their lives here. I see families who've been here for generations priced out of their own neighborhoods.

It's not because our economy isn't growing—it is. California leads the world in innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. But we've made it too hard to build housing, too expensive to start a family, and too difficult for young people to launch their careers.

The problem isn't our economy—it's that we've created barriers that prevent families from sharing in our prosperity. Red tape blocks new housing. Young people can't find entry-level jobs. The cost of living outpaces even good wages.

I'm running because I know we can do better. California has always been a place that builds the future—and we can build a future where families can afford to stay.

That means building more housing so costs come down. It means creating pathways for young people to start careers and families. It means embracing innovation while making sure everyone benefits from our growth.

I'm not running against business or growth—I'm running to make sure our prosperity reaches every family, every neighborhood, every young person trying to build a life here.
